Day 4

Today we visited the sanctuary and learned about all the animals in their care. We had the privilege of being one of the first schools to walk through their brand new lemur enclosure. One of the meerkats also took a liking to our customised hats!

In the afternoon we walked around the ruins of Carisbrooke Castle experiencing far-reaching panoramic views from the high castle walls. We had a lovely lunch in the grounds before coming back to the hotel for our final night disco.

Day 3

Day 3 of our adventures in the Isle of Wight! We started the morning with an informative visit to Osborne House, followed by a walk on Queen Victoria’s private beach. Later on, we played crazy golf before heading to the beach.☀️☀️

Day 2

We’ve had a busy day today, fossil hunting on the beach, some lucky children found dinosaur bones that have been verified by an expert palaeontologist.

After a nice lunch we had a tour around the donkey sanctuary before a fun afternoon playing on the park.

We’re here!

After a boiling journey down to Portsmouth, a trip up the Spinnaker tower, and a very steady ferry ride, we have arrived. The children are all settled and ‘sleeping’ in their rooms, ready for another busy day tomorrow finding fossils and grooming donkeys 😁⛴🗼

Chinese Papercutting

This half term, our Chinese cultural topic is papercutting. Our Year 6s learned the origin of Chinese papercutting and how to cut basic patterns.

In China, people do papercutting not only to decorate their houses, but also for luck. Hope it brings good luck to Year 6s next half term for their SATs.

Chinese New Year

1st February 2022 is Chinese New Year. We held a cultural workshop to experience different new year activity.

We made dumplings and tried our own dumplings, we wrote Chinese calligraphy and did traditioanl papercutting.

We wrote on the tables!

In maths we’ve been trying out some different ways to do our maths, the children love writing on the tables! And so does Mr S 😁

Freeze framing

In our English lesson this morning, we created interesting freeze frames to show different scenes of how a unkind person might make you feel in certain situations.

We then talked about friendship and how to be a good friend. We are all fantastic friends in Wembley class!

Special Y6 Ties!

Last week in year six we were given our special yellow ties to represent our responsibilities as new leaders of the school community! What a wonderful cohort, we look forward to a wonderful school year!
